ROBERT WILLIAM LANG

Qualifications: CrossFit Level 3 Trainer, British Weightlifting Coaching Level 1, CrossFit Gymnastics Level 1, Aerobic Capacity Certified, CrossFit Mobility, Mobility|WOD Movement and Mobility Specialist, MSc in Sports Medicine, BSc in Sports Therapy.

I have always been passionate about exercise, competing in a number of different sports for as long as I can remember; from football to athletics and CrossFit to Ironman Triathlon.

At university, I specialised in injuries within sport, gaining first degree honours in Sports Therapy. This led to a Masters degree in Sports Medicine at Exeter. While working in an injury clinic, I found CrossFit and my love for strength and conditioning grew from there!

I began coaching in 2014. Since then I have gained experience from 4 different gyms. Finally, the time came to follow my own dream and open up my own gym in my home town: Grand Union CrossFit.

JENNA LOUISE NICHOLLS

Qualifications:- Crossfit Level 2 Trainer / Gymnastics Level 1

I have always participated in sports and developed a natural competitiveness when I found a talent in athletics. I was a sprinter, competing at County and National levels, until a bad injury stopped my potential career from going any further.

From here, I did what I could to keep fit and active; joining gyms, classes and going running. However, I always found it hard to stick to and to remain motivated - I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted.

In 2016, I got roped into trying CrossFit and have been hooked ever since! I fell in love with the community aspect at first (everyone has to start somewhere!) and this kept me going. I felt healthier, happier and fitter and realised that CrossFit was the lifestyle change I needed.

Since then, I have competed in a number of competitions and completed my first half marathons!

I’ve been going to GU for almost 2 years now, and loved every second of it. Rocking up to a CrossFit gym initially can be a little intimidating but this is the most welcoming, fun place to train and there are classes for everyone. Rob and Jen are both brilliant, spotting even the smallest things that make the biggest difference. If you’re thinking about joining, do it!
